Receiving Honorable Mention All-Conference were sophomore librero Karina Garcia, of McAllen, Texas; freshman right side hitter Abby Phillips from Bryan, Texas; freshman setter Jordan Strickland from Lexington, Ky..; and freshman middle blocker T'Asia Black from Longview, Texas.
"It is a true honor to be recognized in a conference as tough as ours," said PJC Volleyball Coach Justin Maness. "Any team fortunate enough to win in this conference and compete after the regional tournament has a chance to be National Champions.
"These ladies, as well as the rest of the Lady Dragons, represented our school, community, and athletic programs very well this season. We fell shy of the National tournament by one match, which is the best showing we have had in the program's history.
"Fighting our way back through the tourney bracket and upsetting the defending National Champions, Blinn College, was a huge victory. We finished third in the region behind nationally ranked No. 1 San Jacinto and No. 4 Tyler Junior College.
"It says a lot to finish amongst teams who could very well be crowned National Champions this year," said Manness. "I'm also pleased to say that Katie Poole was selected to as one of the seven for the Regional All-Tournament Team."
