Adult Education
Welcome to the Paris Junior College Adult Education and Literacy (PJCAEL) program!
We invite students to join our diverse range of educational offerings. Whether you're
pursuing your High School Equivalency (HSE), improving literacy, learning English
as a Second Language (ESL), or seeking Workforce Development programs, we have something
for you. Our classes are available both in-person and online (virtual). Information
is subject to change, so call or email for verification.
Program Overview
- HSE Preparation Classes: Prepare for your High School Equivalency (GED) through our comprehensive program.
- Literacy Courses: Enhance your reading and writing skills.
- ESL (English as a Second Language) Classes: Improve your English language proficiency.
- Distance Learning Courses: Access education remotely through online self-paced instruction.
- Workforce Development IET Programs: Combine education and training for career advancement.
- Digital Literacy: Work online to improve your digital literacy skills to help in your personal or professional life.
- TSI Prep: Take a one week, 12 hour prep course to help improve your score on the TSIA college placement test (Prior to enrolling in college).
Cost and Commitment
Our grant-funded program ensures that all services are offered at no cost to students. However, commitment to attendance is crucial for achieving educational and career goals. For those interested in Workforce Development classes, scholarships may be available to cover Continuing Education costs leading to industry-approved certifications.
Program Requirements
- All students must complete baseline and progress tests.
- Adhere to attendance policy rules and department requirements.
- Sixteen-year-olds: Must be court-ordered and submit necessary documents during registration.
- Parents or guardians of 17/18-year-old students: Must be present for signatures during registration.
