Texas law requires that taxing entities, such as Paris Junior College, provide public notice when adopting a tax rate that will raise more property tax revenue than the previous year. This process, known as Truth in Taxation, ensures transparency and gives taxpayers the opportunity to understand and participate in decisions about local tax rates.
