Local softball athletes have two opportunities to attend prospect showcases led by the nationally-recognized Paris Junior College coaching staff. The events will be July 15 and August 24, 2025 in Paris on the Lady Dragon's new softball field.
Head Coach Shelby Shelton, Assistant Coach Taylor Swisher and Program Assistant Jack Butler were named the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. The team also won this year's NJCAA Region 14 championship, making the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Yuma, Arizona this spring.
The showcases are open to all softball players ranging from those entering ninth grade this fall to college transfers. Attendees will demonstrate their skills in an environment similar to PJC Softball regular season practices.
The showcase time for pitchers and catchers is 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Those interested in offense and defense skills should attend from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
