Dragon Promise Program
The Dragon Promise is offered by Paris Junior College to provide free access to higher education for eligible students graduating from Lamar and Red River counties during the most recent academic year. This initiative ensures that students can pursue their education (up to 60 credit hours) without financial barriers. Paris Junior College is committed to supporting the region's education and workforce development needs.
Students Requirements

Complete the Paris Junior College application for admission available at How to get Admitted
- Scholarship Application
Once you have completed the admissions process and have a student ID number, complete the Paris Junior College Scholarship Form available at PJC Foundation Scholarship Application. - Eligibility Criteria
High school graduate from Lamar or Red River County during the most recent academic year. - Enrollment Requirements
- Enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours and maximum of 18 credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring). The Dragon Promise covers summer tuition only if summer enrollment is required for your program. If your program does not mandate summer classes, the Dragon Promise does not apply to summer coursework.
- Follow courses outlined in a specific degree plan.
- Must complete degree or certificate program within 5 years.
- Academic Standards
Maintain a minimum semester GPA of 2.5. - Behavioral Expectations
Remain in good disciplinary and academic standing at Paris Junior College. - Financial Aid Application
Complete and submit one of the following: - Student Support Participation
Engage in regular monitoring sessions with the Student Services staff.
