Scholarships
Paris Junior College (PJC) offers scholarships to qualifying students through the PJC Memorial Foundation – Established by the Alumni & Friends Association, funding numerous endowed scholarships.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per fall/spring semester.
- Must complete the FAFSA (or TAFSA for non-U.S. citizens).
- Must be admitted to PJC.
- Apply online even if FAFSA delays occur—FAFSA is required before funds are disbursed.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered, and notifications will not be sent for missing information.
Students must be admitted to Paris Junior College and have received a PJC ID before applying for most scholarships.
- The PJC General Scholarship Application becomes available once a student completes the admissions application.
- The scholarship application link is included in the welcome email sent after admission is submitted.
- Students should apply even if their FAFSA or TASFA is still being processed.

Dragon Promise Program
The Dragon Promise is offered by Paris Junior College to provide free access to higher education for eligible students graduating from Lamar and Red River counties during the most recent academic year. This program supports students in completing up to 60 credit hours without financial barriers and reflects PJC’s commitment to regional education and workforce development.
Dragon Promise Student Requirements
- Apply for admission to Paris Junior College
- Complete the PJC admissions application through How to Get Admitted
- Receive a PJC student ID
- Complete the PJC General Scholarship Application (used to determine Dragon Promise eligibility)
- Graduate from a high school in Lamar or Red River County
- Graduate during the most recent academic year
Dragon Promise Enrollment Requirements
- Enroll in the fall semester immediately following high school graduation
- Enroll in 6–18 credit hours per fall and spring semester
- Follow courses outlined in a specific degree plan
- Complete their degree or certificate program within 5 years
Dragon Promise covers summer tuition only if summer enrollment is required for the student’s program. If summer coursework is not required, Dragon Promise does not apply to summer classes.

Health Occupations Scholarships
- LVN / Surgical Tech: Deadline: March 15
- Associate Degree Nursing: Deadline: July 1
- Radiology / Sonography / Surgical Tech: Deadline: Nov 11
Filling out the FAFSA
Federal aid programs like Pell Grants provide significant financial assistance. All scholarship applicants must complete the FAFSA along with the PJC General Scholarship Application
