Greenville, TX —Paris Junior College and the Greenville Board of Development are proud to announce a new partnership to establish the Greenville Dragon Promise Program — an initiative designed to expand access to workforce education and strengthen Greenville’s future workforce.

The Greenville Dragon Promise Program will provide financial scholarship support to eligible Greenville students pursuing workforce-focused education and training through Paris Junior College. The program is designed to help remove financial barriers for students while supporting the region’s growing demand for skilled workers in advanced manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, skilled trades, and Career and Technical Education fields.

“Greenville continues to experience growth across many sectors, and that growth depends on having a strong, skilled workforce,” said Mayor Jerry Ransom. “This partnership creates additional opportunities for local students to pursue careers that are needed right here in our community while helping businesses find the talent they need for the future.”

Eligible students may receive scholarship support while pursuing: • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees • Skilled trade certificate programs • Career and Technical Education (CTE) certificates

After students apply for all eligible financial aid, the Greenville Dragon Promise Program will help cover the remaining costs of tuition and required fees. This approach is designed to relieve the financial burden of workforce training and help more students complete programs that lead directly to high-demand careers.

Funding support will be available to graduates from qualifying institutions located within Greenville city limits, including:

  • Greenville ISD
  • Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy
  • Greenville Christian School
  • The Depot Christian School
  • Home-schooled students residing within the Greenville city limits

“The Greenville Board of Development is focused on supporting initiatives that have a long-term impact on our community,” said Holly Gray, Chair of the Greenville Board of Development. “Helping students access workforce training while strengthening the pipeline of skilled employees for local industry is a meaningful investment in Greenville’s continued success.”

The partnership includes a three-year commitment with annual funding of up to $100,000 through the Greenville Board of Development. Paris Junior College will serve as the administrative partner and will manage student eligibility, scholarship administration, reporting, and program oversight.

“Programs like the Greenville Dragon Promise create opportunities for students while helping address important workforce needs in our region,” said Dr. Stephen Benson, President of Paris Junior College. “We greatly appreciate the confidence and support shown by the City of Greenville and the Greenville Board of Development. Their investment in workforce education demonstrates a strong commitment to students, local businesses, and the future growth of this community.”

Additional information on student eligibility, application procedures, and how this year’s graduates can benefit from the program will be announced in the coming weeks.

This initiative continues Paris Junior College’s commitment to expanding workforce training opportunities and strengthening partnerships that support economic growth throughout the region.
