Student Counseling Services at PJC

Published or Revised October 03, 2024

Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Clinical Social Workers at Paris Junior College may assist currently enrolled students with short-term, personal counseling services. The Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Clinical Social workers are based at the Paris location; however, they can schedule appointments at other campus locations and are available via phone, email and Zoom on a daily basis. To supplement the services provided by the Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Clinical Social Workers, the office may make referrals to third-party mental health services available in their geographical areas as needed.

Individual counseling is *confidential and provides an opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times. Individual counseling can help you cope with many personal issues including:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions
  • Sexual orientation and gender identity
  • Substance misuse
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Stress management
  • Trauma and PTSD

*Confidentiality may not be kept under certain conditions such as: disclosure of intent to harm self or intent to harm others.

PJC also has a Behavioral Intervention Team that encourages students, employees, and visitors to report behaviors that may indicate a potential risk or cause for concern. Please email bit@parisjc.edu if you would like to submit a report.
