Testing Accommodations
Paris Junior College is committed to ensuring that students with disabilities have equal access to academic programs and services. Testing accommodations provide students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge without barriers caused by a disability, while maintaining the integrity of the exam.
Testing accommodations are provided in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Who Is Eligible
Testing accommodations are available to students with documented disabilities, including but not limited to:

Learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD)

Physical or mobility impairments

Vision or hearing impairments

Chronic health conditions

Mental health conditions
Common Testing Accommodations
Accommodations are determined individually through the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD). Examples include:

Extended test time

Reduced-distraction testing environment

Assistive technology (screen readers, text-to-speech software)

Enlarged print or alternative formats

Scribes or readers
How to Request Testing Accommodations
Step 1 โ Register with the Accommodations Coordinator
Submit appropriate disability documentation to the Accommodations Coordinator, Ansley
Hoskins (ahoskins@parisjc.edu) housed in the Advising Office. See our Documentation Guidelines for details.
Step 2 โ Meet with the Accommodations Coordinator
Discuss your needs and develop an official accommodation plan.
Step 3 โ Notify Your Instructors
The Accommodations Coordinator will provide send an accommodation letter to your
instuctors.
Step 4 โ Schedule Your Exams
Contact the Testing Center to schedule your exam(s).
Final exams may require additional advance notice.

Student Responsibilities
To ensure smooth testing accommodations, students must:

Request accommodations early each semester

Communicate promptly with instructors and Accommodations Coordinstor

Schedule exams by posted deadlines

Arrive on time and follow Testing Center rules
Confidentiality
All disability-related information is kept confidential and is shared only with personnel directly involved in implementing your accommodations.
